At Kartal Auto, we are honored to work on some of the most prestigious vehicles in the world, and the Rolls Royce Wraith is no exception. Recently, we had the privilege of performing an upholstery job on a Rolls Royce Wraith, and during our inspection, we identified a number of issues that required our expert attention. Our team took great care in restoring and enhancing the interior, ensuring that it not only looked stunning but also maintained the level of comfort and luxury that defines the Rolls Royce brand.
Below, we’ll share the issues we discovered during the upholstery restoration and the custom solutions we implemented to return the vehicle’s interior to its original splendor.
Issues Found & Solutions
- Worn Leather Upholstery
- Problem: The leather upholstery on the seats and other interior surfaces showed signs of wear, especially on high-contact areas like the side bolsters and armrests. The leather had lost some of its softness and luster.
- Solution: We performed a complete leather restoration, starting with deep cleaning to remove dirt and oils. We then used premium leather dyes and conditioners to restore the softness and color of the material. After applying the necessary restoration treatments, we finished with a protective leather sealant that prevents future wear and tear, keeping the leather looking beautiful for longer.
- Stains and Marks on Upholstery
- Problem: The fabric and leather upholstery had accumulated stubborn stains and marks, likely from spills and general use. These blemishes were affecting the vehicle’s pristine interior appearance.
- Solution: Using specialized, non-damaging cleaners, we gently removed stains from both the leather and fabric surfaces. We used a delicate method to treat the stains without harming the materials, leaving the upholstery looking fresh and spotless. To ensure longevity, we applied a protective treatment to prevent future staining.
- Torn and Damaged Upholstery in Certain Areas
- Problem: Several areas, particularly on the door panels and seat corners, had developed tears or damage. This is a common issue in high-end vehicles over time, but it can diminish the overall look of the interior.
- Solution: Our team expertly repaired the tears and damage by carefully matching the original stitching and upholstery patterns. We used high-quality materials to patch and restore the damaged areas, ensuring that the repairs were seamless and virtually undetectable. Once restored, the seats and panels looked as if they had never been damaged.
- Faded or Discolored Trim
- Problem: The interior trim, especially the leather-wrapped components, had faded due to prolonged exposure to sunlight and natural wear, affecting the luxurious aesthetic.
- Solution: We used a premium restoration product to restore the leather trim’s original color. By applying a dye that matched the original tone, we revived the trim pieces and brought back their rich, lustrous look. We also protected the trim with a UV-resistant coating to prevent fading in the future.
- Sagging Seat Cushions
- Problem: Over time, the foam cushioning in the seats had begun to sag, leading to discomfort and a less-than-optimal seating experience.
- Solution: To restore the original comfort, we replaced the worn-out foam with high-density, high-quality foam padding. This new cushioning provided a more supportive and comfortable seating experience, ensuring the seats offered optimal comfort and retained their shape.
