During the restoration process, we identified several issues affecting the upholstery, which we swiftly addressed with precision and expertise. 1. Worn and Faded Leather Upholstery
Issue:
The leather upholstery, a hallmark of the DB11’s interior, had begun to show signs of wear and fading, particularly on the seats and armrests. Years of exposure to sunlight and use had caused the leather to lose its original luster, leaving it dull and in need of restoration.
Solution:
Our team began by thoroughly cleaning and conditioning the leather to remove dirt and restore its natural oils. We then carefully re-dyed the affected areas using high-quality, OEM-grade leather dye, ensuring that the original color and texture were fully restored. Finally, we applied a protective coating to help preserve the leather’s vibrancy and prevent further fading.
2. Cracked and Peeling Vinyl Trim
Issue:
Certain vinyl trims around the dashboard, door panels, and center console had started to crack and peel, detracting from the otherwise pristine appearance of the DB11’s interior.
Solution:
We meticulously removed the damaged vinyl and replaced it with automotive-grade vinyl that matched the original texture and finish. Our team then re-applied the vinyl with precision, ensuring a smooth, seamless surface that matched the DB11’s luxurious aesthetic. The new trim now offers both durability and beauty, enhancing the car’s interior.
3. Stains and Dirt on Alcantara Upholstery
Issue:
The Alcantara fabric on the headliner, seat inserts, and door panels had become stained and soiled over time, diminishing the luxurious feel of the interior.
Solution:
We utilized a specialized cleaning solution designed for Alcantara fabric to gently lift stains and restore the material’s original texture. After cleaning, we applied a fabric protectant to prevent future stains and preserve the Alcantara’s soft, suede-like finish. The result is a clean, refreshed interior that retains its original elegance.
4. Uneven Seat Cushioning and Sagging
Issue:
The seat cushions had begun to sag and lose their original shape, compromising both the comfort and appearance of the seats. This was particularly noticeable on the driver’s seat, which had experienced the most wear.
Solution:
Our team carefully removed the seat covers and replaced the worn-out foam padding with high-quality, high-density foam that restores the original cushioning and support. We also ensured that the seats were reupholstered with precision, so they maintain the proper shape and comfort. 5. Faded Stitching and Thread Wear
