Challenges & Expert Solutions
1. Worn & Cracked Leather Upholstery
Issue: The original leather seats and trim had significant wear, cracking, and fading due to age and exposure.
Solution: We carefully conditioned the salvageable leather to restore its suppleness. For irreparable sections, we used premium, period-correct leather, hand-stitched to match the original patterns, ensuring a seamless, authentic restoration.
2. Compressed & Uneven Seat Padding
Issue: The seat cushions had lost their firmness, leading to discomfort and an uneven appearance.
Solution: We rebuilt the seats using high-density foam and natural horsehair padding, ensuring both long-lasting comfort and historical accuracy.
3. Damaged Wooden Dashboard & Interior Trim
Issue: The dashboard and wooden trim had cracks, fading, and signs of moisture damage.
Solution: We refinished and polished the wooden elements using period-accurate techniques, restoring their original shine and elegance.
4. Faded & Stained Carpeting
Issue: The floor carpeting was heavily discolored, frayed, and thinning in high-traffic areas.
Solution: We replaced it with luxurious wool carpeting, cut and tailored to fit the original layout, enhancing both aesthetics and insulation.
5. Loose & Peeling Door Panels
Issue: The leather and trim on the door panels had begun to peel, and the padding had deteriorated.
Solution: We reupholstered the door panels with matching leather and precision stitching, ensuring a factory-original look and premium feel.
