Recently, we had the pleasure of working on a Bentley Azure, a vehicle that embodies sophistication and elegance. Our goal was to perform a professional polishing service to restore the vehicle’s flawless shine and protect its paintwork. During the process, our team discovered a few challenges that required expert attention. Below, we share the issues we found and the solutions we implemented to ensure the Bentley Azure received the best possible care.
Issue Found:
1. Issue: Paint Swirl Marks
- Problem: During our inspection, we identified swirl marks across the body of the Bentley Azure. These fine, circular scratches were likely caused by improper washing techniques or the use of harsh materials during previous cleaning sessions. Swirl marks are especially noticeable on dark-colored vehicles and can detract from the car’s overall shine.
- Solution: To resolve this, we performed paint correction using high-quality polishing compounds and a dual-action polisher. By carefully working on the affected areas, we were able to remove the swirl marks, leaving the paint smooth and clear. This restoration process brought back the deep, glossy finish that the Bentley Azure deserves.
2. Issue: Surface Contamination
- Problem: The paint surface of the Bentley Azure showed signs of contamination from road tar, sap, and industrial fallout, which had left the paint feeling rough and dull. These contaminants can affect the quality of the polishing process and prevent the paint from achieving its optimal shine.
- Solution: We began by performing a clay bar treatment to decontaminate the paint surface. The clay bar effectively removed all embedded contaminants without damaging the paint, ensuring that the surface was smooth and ready for polishing. Afterward, we applied a fine polishing compound to restore the paint’s luster and bring out its natural depth and shine.
3. Issue: Faded Paint Areas
- Problem: Certain sections of the Bentley Azure’s paint appeared faded, particularly on the horizontal surfaces such as the roof and hood. This fading is often caused by prolonged exposure to UV rays, which can damage the clear coat and make the paint lose its vibrancy.
- Solution: To restore the faded areas, we used a more aggressive polishing compound designed for clear coat restoration. After carefully polishing the affected areas, we applied a protective ceramic sealant to lock in the restored finish and protect the paint from future UV damage. This ensured that the Bentley Azure now had an even, vibrant shine across the entire vehicle.
4. Issue: Minor Scratches and Etching
- Problem: We discovered several minor scratches and water etching marks on the surface of the vehicle, particularly on the lower body panels. These imperfections were likely caused by the accumulation of debris or exposure to hard water during previous washes.
- Solution: Our team meticulously worked to remove the scratches and etching marks using a cutting compound followed by a fine polish. We used specialized polishing pads to ensure that the scratches were removed without further damaging the paint, leaving the surface smooth and flawless.
5. Issue: Uneven Gloss and Shine
