Recently, we had the opportunity to apply Paint Protection Film (PPF) on a Maserati Gran Turismo in Dubai. During the meticulous inspection and installation process, we encountered several issues that required attention to ensure optimal protection and a flawless finish. Issues Found:
- Pre-Existing Paint Chips and Scratches Upon closely inspecting the Maserati Gran Turismo’s paint, we found several minor chips and scratches, particularly on the front bumper and hood. These imperfections can expose the underlying paint to further damage, especially with the high-speed winds and debris common in Dubai.
Solution:
Before applying the PPF, we carefully performed a paint correction to smooth out the scratches and fill in the chips. Solution:
We thoroughly stripped off any wax, sealant, or other contaminants using specialized cleaners. Our team then meticulously prepared the surface by cleaning and decontaminating it to ensure the PPF would adhere properly. This step guaranteed that the PPF would form a durable, seamless bond with the paint, providing long-lasting protection. - Previous Subpar PPF Application The Maserati had a previous PPF that was poorly applied, with visible seams, bubbles, and misaligned edges.
