At Kartal Auto, we pride ourselves on delivering premium automotive detailing services that enhance the look and longevity of luxury vehicles. Recently, we completed a polishing job on a Maserati MC20 in Dubai, and during the process, we discovered several issues that required attention to restore the car’s paint to its pristine condition. Below, we outline the issues we encountered and the solutions we implemented to ensure the Maserati MC20 received the highest standard of care.

Issues Found:

  1. Swirl Marks and Fine Scratches Upon inspecting the Maserati MC20’s paint, we noticed several swirl marks and fine scratches across various panels, including the hood and door areas. These imperfections are often caused by improper washing or dust particles trapped in towels or brushes. Swirl marks can detract from the car’s shine and make the finish look uneven.
    Solution:
To address this, we performed a complete paint correction process. Using a combination of specialized compounds and polishing pads, we carefully removed the swirl marks and fine scratches, leaving the surface smooth and free of imperfections. This restoration process helped to bring back the car’s original shine and ensured a flawless surface for further protection.
  2. Water Spots and Mineral Deposits The Maserati MC20 showed visible water spots and mineral deposits, particularly on the roof and rear panels. These water spots form when water droplets dry on the surface, leaving mineral residue behind. If left untreated, they can cause permanent stains or etch the paint, which could affect the overall look of the car.
    Solution:
We used a specialized water spot remover to break down and eliminate the mineral deposits. Afterward, the affected areas were gently polished to restore their clarity and shine. This step not only removed the water spots but also ensured that the surface was perfectly smooth, allowing the car’s natural gloss to shine through.
  3. Oxidation and Fading on High-Exposure Areas Some areas of the Maserati MC20, such as the front bumper and side mirrors, showed signs of oxidation due to the harsh Dubai sun. The oxidation resulted in a dull, faded appearance, diminishing the overall aesthetics of the vehicle.
    Solution:
To restore the car’s finish, we used an oxidation remover and applied a polishing compound to gently buff out the oxidized layers. This process revived the color and luster of the affected areas, ensuring that the Maserati MC20 looked as stunning as it was designed to be. The polished surfaces now reflect light with a brilliant shine, restoring the car’s luxury appearance.
  4. Paint Contaminants and Road Grime During our inspection, we found that the vehicle had road grime, tar, and industrial fallout stuck to the paint surface. These contaminants, if not properly removed, can interfere with the paint’s appearance and cause long-term damage.
    Solution:
To tackle this, we performed a thorough decontamination using a clay bar treatment, which safely removes all embedded contaminants from the paint. This process left the surface perfectly clean and smooth, ensuring that the polishing process would provide the best possible finish. Afterward, we applied a protective sealant to maintain the smooth, clean surface.
  5. Inconsistent Gloss Levels Some areas of the Maserati MC20 had an uneven gloss finish, especially around the door panels and rear fenders. This inconsistency can make the paint appear patchy, undermining the overall look of the car.
    Solution:
To resolve this, we conducted a second round of polishing, targeting the areas with uneven gloss. By using a combination of different polishing pads and techniques, we were able to level the gloss across the entire vehicle, ensuring a consistent, mirror-like finish. The result was a smooth, glossy surface that highlighted the Maserati’s stunning design.
