At Kartal Auto, we specialize in elevating the luxury experience of your vehicle with tailored solutions designed to protect, restore, and enhance its beauty. Recently, we had the honor of applying ceramic coating to a Rolls Royce Corniche in Dubai, ensuring that this iconic car received the ultimate protection from the harsh environmental conditions while maintaining its pristine appearance. During the process, we identified several issues that needed attention before applying the ceramic coating to ensure its effectiveness and longevity. Below is a breakdown of the problems we encountered and the solutions we provided to ensure the Rolls Royce Corniche received the finest care.

Key Issues Identified During the Rolls Royce Corniche Ceramic Coating Application:

1. Existing Paint Imperfections (Scratches and Swirl Marks)

  • Issue: Upon inspection, we found that the car’s paint had several scratches and swirl marks, likely caused by improper washing techniques or exposure to abrasive environmental factors. These imperfections would not only detract from the car’s appearance but could also interfere with the ceramic coating’s ability to bond properly to the paint surface.
  • Solution: We performed a multi-stage paint correction to remove the scratches, swirl marks, and imperfections from the surface. Our team used a combination of cutting, polishing, and refining processes to restore the paint to a flawless condition, ensuring the ceramic coating would adhere seamlessly and provide maximum protection.

2. Water Spots and Stains on the Paint

  • Issue: The vehicle’s paint had multiple water spots and mineral deposits, which had accumulated over time due to exposure to the harsh Dubai climate. These water spots could interfere with the smooth application of the ceramic coating and could potentially damage the paint if not properly removed.
  • Solution: We used a water spot remover to carefully eliminate the mineral deposits and stains from the surface. Following this, we thoroughly cleaned and prepped the paint, ensuring it was perfectly smooth and free of contaminants before applying the ceramic coating. This step helped ensure that the ceramic coating would bond properly and protect the surface from further damage.

3. Contaminated Paint Surface

  • Issue: After performing a thorough inspection, we noticed that the paint surface had been contaminated with environmental pollutants such as road tar, tree sap, and industrial fallout. These contaminants can create an uneven surface, making it difficult for the ceramic coating to provide even coverage and long-lasting protection.
  • Solution: We used a clay bar treatment to decontaminate the paint surface, removing any stubborn particles and ensuring a smooth and clean finish. This preparation is crucial for ceramic coatings, as it allows for better bonding and durability.

4. Faded and Oxidized Exterior Trim

  • Issue: The exterior plastic trim and rubber seals on the Rolls Royce Corniche had started to fade and show signs of oxidation due to prolonged exposure to UV rays and harsh environmental conditions. These areas needed restoration before applying the ceramic coating to ensure a uniform look and to prevent further degradation.
  • Solution: We carefully restored the trim and rubber seals by using specialized products designed to bring back their original color and shine. After restoring the trim, we applied a protective coating to prevent future fading and cracking, ensuring that the entire vehicle maintained its high-end aesthetic.

5. Wheel Contamination and Brake Dust

  • Issue: The wheels were heavily coated in brake dust and grime, which could affect the effectiveness of the ceramic coating if not properly cleaned. Additionally, brake dust can lead to corrosion over time if left untreated.
  • Solution: We performed an intensive cleaning of the wheels and wheel wells, using a dedicated wheel cleaner to break down the brake dust and dirt without damaging the wheels. Once cleaned, we applied a specialized ceramic coating for wheels to protect the rims from future contaminants, making them easier to clean and maintain.
